Hosted by Richmond Department of Public Works - Urban Forestry Division
Join us at the Science Museum of Virginia’s Earth Day celebration for a Richmond Tree Plan pop-up — an opportunity to learn, connect, and help shape the future of Richmond’s urban forest.
The Science Museum’s Earth Day event is a family-friendly festival filled with hands-on activities, community partners, and interactive learning focused on sustainability, natural resources, and environmental science. The event is free with admission.
At our pop-up, you’ll have the chance to learn about the Richmond Tree Plan, a citywide effort to create a roadmap for how trees are planted, cared for, and protected across Richmond. This plan will guide future investments in tree canopy, helping ensure that more neighborhoods can experience the cooling, health, and environmental benefits that trees provide.
As part of the Cool the City initiative, this work focuses on expanding the tree canopy where it can make the greatest impact to reduce neighborhood heat, improve air quality, and strengthen community resilience.
